The world energy situation has become critical and new issues are arising in the sector of energy conversion. Many of these issues are strictly related to energy and thermal problems, and computational models are essential to solve these problems nowadays. They need an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating social and environmental studies.

The International Conference on Computational Methods for Thermal and Energy Problems aims at bringing together researchers, scientists, practitioners and students interested in this area of research in order to discuss most recent developments and challenges that the future holds in these fields.

Between 1979 and 1997, a number of meetings on computational thermal problems were organized by Professor R.W. Lewis and his colleagues. Lately, it has been revived as Computational Methods for Thermal Problems, and after a stop due to the world pandemic, this new series of conferences which include the broad energy problems is proposed.

The last conferences were:

  • The First ThermaComp2009, held in Napoli, Italy, on September 8-10, 2009
  • The Second ThermaComp2011 held in Dalian, China, on September 5-7, 2011
  • The Third ThermaComp2014, held in Lake Bled, Slovenia, on June 2-4, 2014
  • The Fourth ThermaComp2016 held at Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA on July 6-8, 2016.
  • The Fifth ThermaComp2018 held in Bangalore, INDIA, July 9-11, 2018.
